Using Access 1.x and 2.0 Data .mdb Files with Access 97
If you use the recommended split-database method (storing application objects and data objects in two separate .mdb files), you can convert your Access 1.x or 2.0 application .mdb file to Access 97, but leave the data .mdb as a version 1.x or 2.0 .mdb file. Users of 16-bit Access, Access 95, and Visual Basic 3.0, 4.0, or 5.0 can share the linked data .mdb files. When you attach tables contained in Access 1.x, 2.0, or 95 .mdb files, you don't receive a warning message. You cannot use Access 95 features, such as Briefcase replication, with .mdb files created with Access 2.0 or earlier.
