8. Managing the Audience

A lot of things will come to mind when you think about the audience for your presentation. The most important thing to remember is that the audience is, in general, your friend. They want you to succeed before you even set foot on stage—they’ve read that brilliantly crafted abstract that you uncovered in your brainstorming and supported with a bio that has explained exactly why you are on the stage, and they are in their seats. Still, there are things you can do when preparing and when presenting that can help the audience help you give a great presentation.
