The word Pentecost refers to an event related in the New Testament: on the Jewish holiday known as Pentecost, which occurs 50 days after Passover, the Holy Spirit descended on the Disciples of Jesus. This event took place after the resurrected Jesus had ascended into heaven, leaving his followers confused and afraid.
