A personal list of films that have affected me. While they are ranked from the most important on down, this task is nearly impossible since they are so different. This is a Robinson Crusoe “lost on a desert island” list—cut from the top if you must. They may not have anything special about the sound, or they may be sound tour de forces, but they merit attention in either case.
