Objectives

Many systems can only communicate with a remote network by using a serial connection (a modem). In this chapter we will configure a Point-to-Point (PPP) client to connect into a remote server and provide network connectivity. We'll also see how to configure the Services Access Facility (SAF) and UNIX-to-UNIX Copy Protocol (UUCP), which are used by PPP to make the connection.
