Most systems need to communicate with each other. This may be to share data, transfer files, or send email, for example. In this chapter, we'll look at how we can achieve this by connecting them all to a common network. To do this, we'll see how to assign Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, configure networking-related files, and check that the system is correctly connected to the Local Area Network (LAN).
