patchrm — Remove a Patch Package and Restore Previously Saved Files

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/patchrm [-f][-B backout-dir][-C net-install-image |
  -R client-root-path | -S service] patch-id
					

Description

Use the patchrm command to remove a patch package and restore previously saved files to a Solaris 2 or Solaris 8 system. You cannot use patchrm with Solaris 1 patches. You must run patchrm as root.

When you remove or back out a patch, the patchrm command restores all files modified by that patch unless any of the following conditions are true.

  • The patch was installed with patchadd -d, which instructs patchadd not to save copies of files that are updated or replaced.

  • The patch has been made obsolete by a later patch.

  • The patch is required by another patch. ...
