nisinit — NIS+ Client and Server Initialization Command

Synopsis

/usr/sbin/nisinit -r
/usr/sbin/nisinit -p Y | D | N parent-domain
						host...
/usr/sbin/nisinit -c [-k key-domain] -H hostname | -B | -C coldstart
					

Description

You can use the nisinit command to initialize a machine to be an NIS+ client or an NIS+ root master server.

Note

It may be easier to use nisclient(1M) or nisserver(1M) to accomplish this same task.

Options

-r Initialize the system to be an NIS+ root server. Create the file /var/nis/data/root.object and initialize it to contain information about this system. Use the sysinfo(2) system call to retrieve the name of the default domain.
