labelit_ufs — Provide and Print Labels for UFS File Systems
Synopsis
/usr/sbin/labelit -F ufs [generic-options] special [fsname volume]
Description
Use labelit to write labels on unmounted disk file systems. You can use such labels to uniquely identify volumes, and they are used by volume-oriented programs such as volcopy(1M).

Options supported by the generic labelit command. See labelit(1M). |
Operands
special | The physical disk section (for example, /dev/dsk/c0d0s6). The device cannot be on a remote machine. |
fsname | The mount point (for example, /, u1, and so on) of the file system. fsname is limited to six or fewer characters. |
volume | The physical volume name. volume is limited to six or fewer characters. |
