devfseventd — Kernel Event Notification Daemon for devfsadmd
Synopsis
/usr/lib/devfsadm/devfseventd
Description
The devfseventd daemon is new in the Solaris 8 release. It provides kernel event notification services to the devfsadmd(1M) daemon.
devfsadmd uses devfseventd to receive notifications when device nodes are added or removed from the kernel device tree or when a new version of path_to_inst(4) needs to be flushed to disk.
The /etc/rcS.d/S50devfsadm script starts devfseventd.
Note
This manual page documentation does not constitute an API. devfseventd and /etc/path_to_inst may not exist or may have different contents or interpretations ...
