/sbin/dhcpagent [-a][-dn][-f][-v]

Description

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a standard developed to enable host systems in a TCI/IP network to be automatically configured for the network as they boot. The dhcpagent daemon implements the client half of DHCP for workstations with a local disk.

DHCP manages IP address assignments through leasing, which enables IP addresses to be reclaimed when not in use and reassigned to other clients. This process enables a site to use a smaller pool of IP addresses than would be needed if all clients were assigned a permanent address.
