Agents keep information in tabulated data structures known as Management Information Bases (MIBs). Abstract Syntax Notation One (ASN.1) notation is used to defines MIB tables and objects. Each object is represented by an object identifier (OID). An OID is a sequence of numbers separated by dot characters.
