Displaying Information About NIS+ Automount Maps

The following sections describe how to use the -o and the -v options to the niscat command to display information about the format and the content of NIS+ automount maps. You do not need to be root or a member of the sysadmin group (GID 14) to display information with the niscat command. You do need to have at least read permission for the NIS+ automount tables. See Chapter 5, “Introducing the NIS+ Environment,” for more information about NIS+.
