The descriptions in this section have been revised to reflect the Solaris 8 implementation of the automounter.
Figure 27 illustrates the automounter startup process. In the first step, the automountd daemon is started and continues to run as long as the system is up. The automount program is started, does the job specified in Figure 27, and then terminates.
