Introducing the NIS+ Installation Scripts
To set up an NIS+ server and NIS+ clients, use the nisserver, nispopulate, and nisclient scripts. The NIS+ scripts are Bourne shell scripts that execute groups of NIS+ commands so you do not have to type the commands individually. Table 32 describes the tasks each script performs.

| nisserver | Set up the root master, non-root master, and replica servers with level 2 security (DES). |
| nispopulate | Populate NIS+ tables in a specified domain from their corresponding system files or NIS maps. |
| nisclient | Create NIS+ credentials for hosts and users; initialize NIS+ hosts and users. |
