4. Managing ZFS Home Directories
This chapter describes how to use ZFS file systems for users’ home directories. Managing home directories with ZFS is very easy:
• Quotas and reservations are easier to manage than in other file systems.
• Individual users can recover their own files from snapshots, leaving the administrator to do other work.
• Compression on file systems enables better disk management.
• File system properties can be assigned depending on users’ needs.
