OpenSSH is a free open source implementation of the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol. The original SSH was written by Tatu Ylonen of the Helsinki University of Technology. SSH is a secure replacement for telnet and rlogin with strong encryption and authentication. It is a de facto standard and should be used instead of regular telnet and rlogin whenever possible.
