Kerberos and Solaris 8

The Solaris 8 operating environment supports Kerberos versions 4 and 5 as part of the Sun Enterprise Authentication Mechanism (SEAM). The client and the pluggable authentication module (PAM) for Kerberos V5 are included in Solaris 8 and are an integrated part of the operating system. This means that any Solaris 8 system is “Kerberized” (that is, it can support Kerberos for authentication). However, Solaris 8 by itself does not include the Kerberos server software.
