/etc/logindevperm
The /etc/logindevperm configuration file sets the permission modes on the specified console devices. Its importance lies in the fact that if an unauthorized person can read from and/or write to the console devices, usually used for system administration, serious security breaches might occur. For example, someone could intercept the root passwords and everything else typed on the keyboard by reading the /dev/kbd device. Therefore, be sure that the mode column shown in Listing 4.2 is set to a restrictive setting.
