Trusted Common Desktop Environment

As may be inferred from its name,Trusted Common Desktop Environment (TCDE) is an extension of the standard CDE included with Solaris 8. It has been modified and extended to provide additional security in an X11 windowing environment, such as enforcing mandatory access control and providing trusted paths to and from applications and data. Even such windowing environment features as drag and drop and copy and paste are controlled, and security policy is enforced. A special visual indication is used for trusted paths, described in the next section.
