Security is a constant concern for network attached PCs. E-mail-based exploits and other malevolent programs target servers and other network host PCs. Firewalls and Windows XP built-in security software were discussed in Chapter 5. This chapter takes a broader look at SOHO LAN security by first identifying and discussing different network security threats and then by addressing the steps and procedures that make a SOHO LAN secure from these threats.
