INTRODUCTION
NATURE AND PURPOSE OF THE BOOK
The Foundation Certificate in Software Testing was introduced as part of the BCS Professional Certification portfolio (formerly ISEB) in 1998; since then over 40,000 Foundation Certificates have been awarded. An intermediate level certificate was introduced in 2007 as a step towards the more advanced Practitioner Certificates which have in turn been replaced by the Advanced Certificates.
