Agile—In the context of this book, this is used to refer to a mindset that is aligned with the values and principles outlined in the Agile Manifesto. It is not used in the sense of the common English adjective.

Agile fluency—Agile fluency is determined by the way a team develops and releases software when it is under pressure (or is distracted). It describes the degree to which Agile practices have been internalized by the team.

Agile organization—For the purposes of this book, an Agile organization is one that is quick to respond to changes in the marketplace. This organization responds positively to rapidly changing environments. Such organizations typically have a flat structure and their employees are highly empowered.
