ANTIPATTERN: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE

Instead of focusing on the qualities of individuals needed to achieve results, you merely focus on the number of individuals.

PROBLEM

You blame a headcount shortage for your lack of results.

The available qualities[1] on a team matter more than the number of people on that team. If a given team task requires three distinct skills and your teammate Joe happens to have those three qualities, the following should hold true:

If Joe's needed qualities are available to him on demand,

And Joe's workload is wide open,
