The computer is a machine to boost the efficiency of mental work. The computer has two aspects: (1) hardware and (2) software. The term hardware describes the physical aspects of computers and related devices. Detailed instructions in a form understandable to computer hardware are called software. Once installed, software applications are often used for many years. Unlike physical objects (hardware), software does not get damaged or deteriorate with use and passing of time. Hence, maintenance of software is different from maintenance of physical objects.
