8.4. Conclusions

In this chapter we covered several intelligence-gathering techniques that can improve our architecture practices and probability of system success. One of the most important lessons learned is to consider architecture as a deliverable. In the opinions of some software authorities, architecture is the most important deliverable of the project. We tend to agree; however, we seldom brag about this openly, especially in the presence of developers. The truth is that everybody's contribution to the software project is vitally important, but not all are equally important.
