Becoming a blogger

What is blogging?

A blog is essentially a diary or journal, just one that you write on the internet rather than in a book. There are a number of free sites you can use to write your blog. Blogger (www.blogger.com) and Wordpress (www.wordpress.com) are the two most popular. There are also paidfor sites such as Typepad (www.typepad.com).

Your blog can be integrated into your website or it can exist as a separate domain. Whether you integrate or not depends on what your blog is for, and how it fits with your business. If you are employed, then you need to consider how your blog might reflect on or affect your position. Are you blogging for the company or for yourself?
