There is some debate about the continuing usefulness of Compete and Compete Pro (see Figure 22-3) as metrics tools and how effective the data they provide is. These tools can be useful for comparison and ranking metrics and also offer some specific product solutions for things like ad impact, consumer behavior information, surveys, competitive intelligence, and opportunity identification.

Compete Pro, while not a tool I use, is a paid tool intended for agencies that starts out at $199 in pricing and goes up from there. If you want the benefits of deep analysis and don’t have time to set up and monitor your own metrics in a tool like Google Analytics, this tool or one like it may solve your challenge. You may want to read all reviews first, however, to see if this is a tool that fits your needs and comfort level.
