KISSmetrics

KISSmetrics is targeted analytics for people who sell things online. Whether you sell services or products, KISSmetrics tracks the conversion rate and a variety of other metrics on your sales site and pay portals.

KISSmetrics tracks the metrics by using events that you set up inside your KISSmetrics dashboard. These events correspond to the tracking code you install on your website.

These events are designed to be very specific. You can track simply who came to your homepage, but you’ll get better metrics if you track who is clicking each button on that page, who uses your pay portals, and who fills out your forms.

This metrics program helps you track things like upsells as well and follow your A/B tests to see which versions of different landing pages bring you the most actual business or business leads that you can turn into new business.

One nice feature of KISSmetrics, if you have a product or app, is how it can track how your users are using it. You get data on installations and setups and where customers might drop off in your download or upgrade processes.

KISSmetrics offers a free version and paid versions that give you even more data. Figure 22-2 is from the free version, and you can see that even that version offers several options for events to track. You’re limited only in your imagination.
