Mixpanel

Mixpanel, shown in Figure 22-16, tracks mobile and web data and focuses on the actions people are taking around your content, products, and apps. Mixpanel does this tracking in a variety of ways, including segmentation, database analysis, dynamic bucketing, and more.

One nice feature for visual thinkers is Mixpanel’s reporting tools, which the company touts as eliminating the need for spreadsheet software like Excel. I’m not ready to give up my spreadsheets just yet, but the reporting tools do provide lovely visuals of your data in ways that you can manipulate to tell you the information you need in a format you can include on reports and in presentations.

Mixpanel also lets you build funnels to track drop rates, retention issues, signups, and points of conversion. It offers a nice array of tools for folks who have a mobile app or site and a website with landing pages.

Figure 22-16: Mixpanel can help you track mobile as well as web data.
