Mint

Mint, which calls itself Have-A-Mint on its website to avoid being confused with the accounting program of the same name owned by Intuit, is a fully customizable PHP-based metrics solution. It delivers your metrics on sites made using PHP (like a WordPress blog, for example) in neat, easy-to-read widgets (see Figure 22-14).

Mint is limited only by your knowledge of PHP. It comes with many fantastic widgets out of the box, and a good PHP programmer can add in widgets customized to your business. Mint offers a variety of data views and interactions to make the experience of reading and studying your metrics more dynamic.

In Mint, the settings and features are called pepper, and the user-generated layers and options you can download for more reports are called the pepper mill (see Figure 22-15). Mint has a robust community that helps each other solve metrics issues and create better add-ons to the program. Mint is another type of open-source project.
