Week 4: Social Content—Ratings, Reviews, and Recommendations

Building on Chapter 10, “Social Content—Text, Photos, Audio, and Video,” you’ll continue working through the social media content channels. In this chapter I’ll focus on ratings, reviews, and recommendations. Like blog posts, photos, and videos, these are created by people based on an experience and are intended to be shared.

Ratings, reviews, and recommendations are an extremely important form of social media applied directly to commerce. People want to know whether others are happy with their purchases and whether they’d recommend the merchant at the center of the transaction. Digital tools greatly expand the reach of these marketplace conversations.
