This chapter presents ideas for delivering online course content and communication in ways that will increase student participation and engagement. Diane Rasmussen Neal discusses options for using social media such as discussion forums, synchronous chat, social networking, and collaborative workspaces to reach students online in exciting ways. Additionally, she outlines advantages and disadvantages of using these tools in class.
