Before getting into how the whole system will look, I need to go over some practical constraints that I have imposed on the example. This book has a number of hidden constraints created by the target audience. For example, the majority of people reading this book develop software for the Windows platform. As a result, any Linux example must use tools available on Windows. One of the strengths of using any open-source code is that you can almost always find a Windows version of the same product.
