Staying in command

The key to making this work lies in retaining command of both demand management, which means handling the business’s requirements as they change and evolve, and supply management, involving understanding exactly what the supplier is doing and why, where its priorities lie, and possibly redrawing timelines and requirements in line with changes in the business and statutory requirements. This role is illustrated in Figure 6.1.
