Guardians

The number one concern of mothers everywhere is, “Who will care for my children if I die while they’re still minors?” If there is one reason—and one reason alone—why you should put an estate plan into place, it’s to name a Guardian to care for your minor children. A Guardian can only be named in your Will. But how do you choose a Guardian? Focus on the individual who will love your offspring and raise them as you would. Don’t worry about who can afford more mouths to feed or who lives in your community. Instead, follow your gut instinct and select the friend or family member who will treat your children as their own and share with them the beliefs and values you cherish.
