When appearing in a videoconference, simpler clothing is better. Understated, elegant, classic styles are best. Clothing should always look clean and fresh. Your clothing should never be so noticeable that you fade in the background by comparison.

Remember, your head, shoulders, and the upper part of your torso are primarily what is displayed on video. Therefore, avoid clothing that detracts from your face. You should be wearing your clothes—not the other way around.
