Overview of Custom SSIS Task and Component Development

Although SSIS scripting is quick and easy, it’s not the best solution for implementing business logic for all BI solutions. As with any type of scripting, SSIS package-level scripting is isolated to the particular package where the script was developed and can be reused in another package only by cutting and pasting the original script. If your business requirements include complex or highly reusable custom logic that will be reused frequently across multiple SSIS packages, you’ll want to create your own SSIS object rather than simply reuse the SSIS Script tasks over and over.
