Data Mining and Integration Services

We realize that if you’re reading this book in the order that it’s written, this section will be the first detailed look you’ve taken at Integration Services. If you’re completely new to SSIS, you might want to skip this section for now, read at least the introductory chapter on SSIS (which is the next chapter in the book), and then return to this section.

Data mining by DMX query is supported as a built-in item in SSIS as long as you’re using the Enterprise edition of SQL Server 2008. You have two different item types to select from. The first type, Data Mining Query Task, is available in the control flow Toolbox. The editor for this task is shown in Figure 13-19.
