SMART Slate™ Wireless Slate
Formerly called the AirLiner™ Wireless Slate, the SMART Slate (shown in Figure 18-4) is an ideal gadget if you enjoy walking around in the audience, getting closer to students and participants, and asking questions or explaining concepts. If you also like to dazzle and look impressive, the SMART Slate is a must! The slate enables you to control all SMART applications on your interactive whiteboard, wirelessly. You can stand in the back of the room and write on the slate and, like magic, what you write appears on the interactive whiteboard. You can stand in front of a room full of students, showing them how to work out a math problem, and everyone can view what you’re doing.
The SMART Slate is quite versatile. If you don’t want to use it with an interactive whiteboard, it connects wirelessly to your computer from over 32 feet away. Some of the models boast an impressive 54 feet.
