Troubleshooting
If you’ve run into a problem using your SMART Board interactive whiteboard, you’ve come to the right place. This appendix troubleshoots the most frequent problems. If you don’t find the answers you need here, or if you’re still having trouble, contact SMART Technologies for technical support (see Appendix A for contact information).
There are three general troubleshooting tips that will solve many problems you may experience:
Restart your computer. When in doubt, just restart. Sometimes a simple restart is all it takes to get things working properly again.
Check to make sure that all cables are properly connected. Follow the cable(s) from the wall socket to the device that isn’t working, whether that’s your computer, interactive whiteboard, projector, or something else. Unplug the cable, wait at least ten seconds, and then plug the cable back in (making sure it’s fully plugged in). That may solve your problem.
Update your SMART software to the latest versions. SMART regularly releases bug fixes and improvements to its software. Choose Help⇒Check for Updates ...
