Abstract

The process of connecting a small wind turbine to an electric utility has two different but necessary components. One is policy and permitting; the other is the actual physical connection. The former requires all the necessary paperwork for permission to connect, and the latter requires overcoming technical obstacles and making sure that the connection is dependable and safe. Each electric utility can establish its own policies and requirements for connecting to its grid.
