Summary

In this chapter, I presented a Framework for Facilitation consisting of eight elements that are used as chapter headings in Part Two. As we move into Chapter 4, the focus is on asking questions and participating in advance planning that will help a facilitator assist a group in accomplishing its task and maintaining its relationships. Much of the success of a facilitated session depends on planning and setting realistic expectations that are agreed upon by all involved. The chapter also includes follow-up activities, a commonly neglected aspect of facilitation.
