Chapter 11. Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes

Lotus Domino is an enterprise-level mail server (and more) that runs on Microsoft and Unix operating systems. Domino contains many server functions, including SMTP, POP3/IMAP, web, and instant messaging, among others. Lotus Notes is an email client that is often used to access a Domino server, though in theory it can be set up to access any POP3-compliant server. In this chapter, we cover the basic anti-spam capabilities incorporated into the server and client level as they are shipped in version 6.5.1. Domino has a very easy-to-manage filtering capability at the server level, which is rare among the MTAs that are available today.
