Privileged Settings

Privileged settings are enabled by the administrator. Only the following user classes may change privileged settings:

  • Users running the spamassassin executable from procmailrc or .forward files

  • Users editing a system-wide file in the configuration directory (i.e., /etc/mail/spamassassin)

Privileged Settings Under spamd

spamd users are allowed to change these values if allow_user_rules is set to 0 (see the allow_user_rules description next). Also, please note that configuration commands on blacklisting and other areas are covered elsewhere in this appendix for the commands indicated.
