This chapter extols the virtues of simplicity in our thinking and encourages us to seek simple solutions.

Before you read on, spend a few moments thinking about and answering the following:
- Somebody who works for you has a major body odour problem. Several of your other employees have complained about it. What should you do?
- You have the feeling that your customer service is not what it was or not as good as your competitors’. What should you do?
The rule
I’ll freely accept that some things in life are not simple. Putting a man on the moon, for example, or the Apollo 13 rescue were immensely complex feats of engineering, mathematics, computing, rocketry, physics and many other disciplines.
