Editing Images

A basic philosophy

Image

Photographers tend to be packrats. We save broken equipment thinking that we’ll repair it someday. We hate to throw out props in case we might want them later. We hang onto images for the same reason. We understand the desire to hang onto all images. They’re a part of our history. They document special times and places. That said, there’s no reason to keep images that are technically flawed. There’s no reason to keep grossly underexposed, overexposed, or out-of-focus images. You’ll not use them; at least you never should use them. Get rid of them!
