z-Transform

The z-transform is used to take discrete time domain signals into a complex-variable frequency domain and it opens up new ways of solving problems and designing discrete domain applications. The inverse z-transform of rational z-images and of some other image functions can be computed. The methods used are partial fraction decomposition and symbolic computation. The aim of this chapter is to introduce the z-transform.
