10.4 NON-UNIQUENESS STATE MODEL

It is possible to get different state models for the same transfer function since the state equations are not unique. There are several methods of choosing the state variables as discussed in Chapter 9. The following two methods are discussed here:

(i) phase variable form and (ii) canonical form.

If we select any form of SV model, the output y(k) will remain same for any given input sequence x(k).
