GET A LIFE!

Old joke:

A guy goes to the doctor and says, “Doc, it hurts when I do this.” And the doctor says, “Then don't do that!”

That's the key to “getting a life.” Stop doing the things that hurt you. Simple idea again, huh? The key is identifying what those things are. That's not so hard either. Are you sick of living life in a “less than” way? Having less than you want? Less than you dreamed of? Less than you deserve? Are you finally ready to do something about it? Are you ready to change?

I doubt it.

“What? How can you be so cruel? How can you say you doubt that I am ready to change?”

Easy. I've heard it all before. You have probably said it all before as well.

I start every speech I give with these questions: “How many of you are ready to be more successful in the future than you ever were in the past? How many of you are ready to make more money in the future than you ever did in the past? How many of you are ready to have more fun in the future than you ever did in the past?” I ask them to respond by yelling out “You bet!” at the end of each question. Everyone eagerly does. How many of those people do you think really become more successful, make more money, or have more fun? I doubt if very many of them do. Your response might be that it's because I did not give that great a speech. That certainly could be. But I think there is much more to it than that.
